Heat shrink caps are not simply caps that shrink when heated.
The inside of this cap is coated with hot melt adhesive (glue) that melts when heated.
By placing it over the object to be coated and applying heat, the cap shrinks and the hot melt melts, filling in the gap between the object to be coated and the cap.
